MEMORY A

thesis / recalling memories

As humans we live through every event that takes place within our lives. Unfortunately we are unable to recall everything we have been through. Some memories stay with us forever while others fade and are eventually forgotten. Each wooden ball in this interactive piece represents a memory and allows users to navigate them throughout various sized circles that act as a form of filtration. The larger balls are memories as a whole and are not detailed to a specific moment, and the different sizes are eventually filtered down into the smallest ball which represents the most detailed memory. They will notice the larger balls will be held in the larger circle, while the medium balls will be held in the middle circle, and the smallest balls in the smallest circle. This shows the filtration process of being able to recall a vague memory to a detailed memory.
